about liz:
Liz Jarmer (she/her) is a performer and writer who lives in Chicago, IL. Liz mostly did musical theatre for a long time. Then she was told she should do more comedy because she was “quirky.” Then Liz got a tattoo on their right hand that said “Y&,” which stood for “yes, and” (the improv saying). She moved to Chicago after graduating with a BFA in Musical Theatre (and about 3/4 of a vocal performance degree), and was honestly really embarrassed about the tattoo for a few years.
Nowadays, Liz writes and performs original solo music, and also co-writes original musical theatre with her writing partner, Abby Hadel. Liz is very interested in how art can be used for radical imagination, and is especially drawn to the bright and colorful world of kids entertainment. She performs regularly with the Emmy-winning team at Threaded Films / Project Adventure as a puppeteer, voiceover actor, and regular human actor. In 2019, Liz was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement for Interactivity along with the rest of Project Adventure for her work on the family-friendly online interactive show Adventures of Em.
Liz has mostly made peace with the hand tattoo.
